JOB TITLE: Head of Sales Engineering
LOCATION: San Mateo/San Francisco
PACKAGE: $280,000.00 Base, with $70,000.00-$120,000.00 OTE

My client is the only real-time cloud monitoring platform for infrastructure, microservices, and applications. The platform discovers and collects metrics across every component in your cloud environment, replacing traditional point tools and providing real-time predictive analytics. My client is used by leading enterprises across high tech, financial services, consumer products, retail, communications, entertainment, and wed-scale players.
Key Experience Required:
- 7 years of demonstrated experience in a sales engineer or similar pre-sales role
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience in a people management role
- Experience with open source monitoring tools (Nagios, Ganglia, collectd, Graphite, etc.) preferred
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Passionate about technical sales and working with customers
- Ambitious and self-motivated with a high emotional IQ
- Highly coachable with a strong desire to improve and grow as a professional
- Start-up experience and some vertical experience
- Modern application architecture (micro-services) understanding
- Team player
- Ideally, candidate will be based in the San Francisco Bay Area
Role Information:
- Travel up to 30% of the time
- Proactively build and manage a team of world class Sales Engineers
- Responsible for recruiting, hiring and training Sales Engineers in assigned territory
- Actively drive and manage the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and advocate for my client’s service
- Answer technical questions from customers regarding my client’s technology, features, solutions, applications as well as articulate my client’s technology and product positioning to both business and technical users
- Identify all technical issues of your assigned accounts to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process
- Establish and maintain strong relationships through the sales cycle with my client’s customers technical staff
- Demonstrate my client’s service to customers on site, remotely via webinar sessions, and at field events such as conferences and trade shows. Ensure that all team members can do the same
- Ability to successfully oversee multiple opportunities & POCs concurrently (across entire team)
- Ensure team members track customer activity in internal systems in order to execute effectively on account strategy
- Accountable for individual and team expense budget management
